2019 started off
shaky for Brisbane. After an inconsistent first few rounds, Seibold's men
managed to string together a few wins in the regular season and just scrape
into the Top 8 before being inelegantly ejected from finals contention by the
Eels.

With marquee signing
Brodie Croft joining the squad in 2020, the Broncos will be looking at finding
strength in his partnerships with Anthony Milford and Jake Turpin, as well as
back-up halves Tom Dearden and Sean O'Sullivan when looking to improve quite
possibly their biggest statistical error of 2019- attacking kicks.
According to
statistics from Nrl.com, the Broncos had the worst off-boot execution in
opposition red zones in 2019, whilst Parramatta performed best.
In 2019, the Broncos
forced only 34 drop-outs, whilst
conceding an equal league-high 25 seven-tackle sets from kicks, and further
ranked fourth-last in tries scored from kicks, scoring only 24.
If Brisbane are able
to put a great deal of focus and work into the execution of their attacking
kicks, particularly looking to their corners, their outside men have the
ability to put the points on the board, and could help avoid the embarrassment
of 2019 finals and secure the Broncos a spot in the second week of finals
football.
